Difference between Organization, Administration and Management (School Organization and Classroom Management)
School organization means looking after the internal
and external affairs of the school, the proper use of the resources available
and taking proper care of the resources so that teaching and learning can take
place in a better way. There
are three main roles in any school
1. Learner
2. Education
3. Teacher.
Looking after their needs, providing the resources they
require, and proper maintenance of these resources is the basic goal of the
organization. For example, school building, school supplies, registers and
resources for curricular and non-curricular activities; there storage and care
and proper use is the school organization. The goal of the organization is to
provide better environment for the development of the child and teachers.
Classroom management is defined as a process that needs
a teacher to manage a classroom in order for an effective teaching and learning
activities to take place. Classroom management refers to all of the things that
a teacher does to organize students, space, time, and materials so that
learning can take place. This management includes fostering student involvement
and cooperation in all classroom activities and establishing a productive
working environment. Classroom management is one of the most important skills
that teachers develop in their career. Management of classes always demands
such strategies, methods and measures which should facilitate productive work
in teaching learning process. When deciding on classroom management strategies,
it is essential to look at what types of learners are in the classroom, as well
as what outcomes are desired from the techniques. Just as the goal of managing
a business is profit maximization, the goal of managing a classroom is learning
maximization. A classroom may appear to be operating effectively and in an
organized manner, but if all the students are not engaged in learning, this
classroom is not well managed. In contrast, a classroom might appear to be
chaotic, with noise and activity that make it difficult for the outside
observer to tell what is going on. However, if all the students are actively
engaged in learning and can name what they are doing to learn, the classroom is
probably well managed. Classroom management involves decisions about what to
teach and how to teach it. This is not simple. Every classroom has diverse
learners. In order to reach every learner at their level, the teacher has to
differentiate instruction. Classroom management also involves rules,
procedures, routines, timetables, and managing the physical and social
environments. It also involves setting a protocol for acceptable behavior and
communicating effectively so that students are clear about what is expected of
them.
Organization
It refers to the form of the enterprise or institution
and the arrangement of the human and material resources functioning in a manner
to achieve the objectives of the enterprise. It represents two or more than two
people respectively specializing in functions of each perform, working together
towards a common goal as governed by formal rules of behavior.
Administration
It is concerned with the determination of corporate
policy and the overall coordination of production, distribution and finance.
Management
It refers to the execution of policy within the limits
which are established by administration and the employment of the organization
as required. According to Sheldon,
Organization is the formation of an effective machine. Administration: of an
effective direction and Management: of an effective executive. Organization is the machine of management in its
achievement of the ends determined by Administration as administration defines
the goal; management strives towards it.
